Nahr Al-Assfour

Four Kafarhatians, thirsty for adventure, took the journey of crossing the "Assfour River" From the town of Kafarhata to the final destination "The Mediterranean Sea". Atef Sakr, Nicolas Choueiri, Gebran Esber and Vicky Sakr took the risk of walking in the dry river bed Knowing that could be some dangerous animals hiding in the valley beside the River edge. The trip was very treacherous but they managed to make it safe. Their comment About the scenery was: " It is a wonder in the heart of Kafarhata waiting for everyone to discover"!

Here are some exiting pictures from that trip provided by Gebran Esber (Click on the thumbnail to see a large size).

Beside some isolated pockets, Nahr Al-Assfour generally dries up in the summer. That’s why you see the great explorers - Nicolas, Atef and Gebran – standing in the middle of its crossing. You won’t see them there in the winter! ASFOUR10.jpg (13766 bytes)
ASFOUR6.jpg (17074 bytes) No, it’s not a picture from the Grand Canyon! It’s another great scene of Nahr Al-Assfour path between huge carved rocks.
…Climbing the huge rocks that Nahr Al-Assfour moved along the way during its thunderous days! ASFOUR8.jpg (17826 bytes)
