MAHRAJAN AL-MOGHTARIBIN 2002

Dear Moghtaribin.

Your support , your participation and your zeal , gave all the necessary vitamins and minerals to a modest idea , and resulted in a huge success last year . It gave the true image of Kfarhata , and brought all the people together , from all the sides of the world and more difficultly from all the sides of the village , to wear their shorts and play volley-ball and ping-pong , to shout and argue playing cards and backgammon, to enchant their ears by the traditional zajal and the youngish voice of Katia , to sing with their children and Mini Studio characters , and in summary to have great fun .

As I promised last year , this Mahrajan has become a yearly event . The first weekend of August will be a yearly date for all of you to come and meet in our lovely village . Hence , the Mahrajan will take place on the 2nd , 3rd and 4th of August . The programme will be as follows :

1- Volleyball competition : It seems that this year the Senior Residents Team (age > 30) is very hard to beat . Some rumors say that some emigrants are so afraid of getting hurt that they decided to hide in their bedrooms . Anyway , for those emigrants who will dare to show in the playground , we will have a World Cup Game on the 4th of August between the Residents Team and the Whole World Emigrants Team . By the way , Dear Emigrants , I have to mention that Red Cross facilities are available to rescue only three guys at a time .

2- Likha , Tarnib, Mahbousseh , Frangieh and ping-pong competitions : I hope that the Emigrants have taken private lessons all year long . Last year , all five cups went to the Residents . I will personally encourage the last year Champions to stay aside this year to give the Emigrants a chance to hold one of the cups . Inshallah !

3- Le Petit Prince + Elie Massaad on the 3rd of August : the famous two singers will give a mix of two totally different atmospheres . You will definitely dance like crazy and laugh like crazier . Moreover , a belly dancer will be there to make your wives the craziest of all (for more info concerning the belly dancer , please contact Elias Sakr) .

4- Jawkat Al Kalaa (Moussa Zgheib) on the 2nd of August : At the crowds request , the most famous Zajal group in Lebanon will be back in town for the second year in a row . Who can reject the crowds request ?

5- A huge Children Play by Mini Studio Group of MTV on the 4th of August : Your kids can enjoy the Mahrajan and have a good memory of the village !

6- Closing ceremony on the 4th of August : distributing the medals and the cups of the different competitions . Tabl and Zamr will also be there to help the Residents Team celebrate their most probable triumph .

Dear Moghtaribin . We wish that all of you will be here . As I mentioned last year , this mahrajan is 100 % YOUR MAHRAJAN and it is the true expression of what Kafarhata really means to all of us : family , friends and fun. I have to underline that this Mahrajan is not profit-oriented . We insisted on having very cheap entrance tickets , and hence your financial support is indispensable . Many of you were very generous last year . We hope that they keep it that way , and that the others are encouraged to do the same.

Finally , I must say that through commitment , love and positive thinking , we can make achievements , no matter how limited our resources are . The success of the Mahrajan last year , and the winning of the North Lebanon Volley-ball Championship by the Club Team this year , prove that . So please let us try to help each other in achieving more deeds and less words.
